Upper Liddesdale & Hermitage Organisation (UH&LO)

Introduction
This Organisation has been granted charitable status by OSCR on October 21st with a charity number SC054659. The prime reason for establishing this charity was to act as a conduit for community benefit money from Pines Burn wind farm. However, it will be able to accept grant money in the form of community benefit from other wind farms or renewable energy schemes which may be developed in the area, or from other grant giving bodies.

Purposes
The charitable purposes of the Organisation are, To advance education, promote rural regeneration, provide facilities in the interests of social welfare and to improve quality of life for those who live within the official Upper Liddesdale & Hermitage Community Council boundary ("the Community").

The Consititution of the Organisation allows anyone to make an application for funds for any project which fulfils the charitable purposes as set out above, provided it is not prohibited by the UL&HO grant policy or the policy of the body granting the money in the first instance.
